Tunmi Da Silva is a Nigerian-American artist based in Los Angeles, CA. She holds a B. Arch degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (2019) and is currently pursuing an MFA in Sculpture at UCLA (2027).

Artist Statement

My work adapts ancestral traditions carried through the body to foreign lands. I’m interested in concepts of sexuality, tactility, and non-belonging. I’m also interested in an analogous relationship between the human body and bodies of water, surface tensions, and hydrologic/ecologic allegories. Precociousness is the bedrock of the work.
